Use Baby Steps To Start Living Off The Grid

I heard a very interesting argument the other day about green energy and solar power in particular. The comment was that very few people have been moving in the direction of getting totally self sufficient by living off the grid. The whole premise behind harnessing free energy is powerful but the problem that we came up with why people haven’t chosen to go the solar route is strictly due to cost. If that is the case, why wouldn’t we want to at least start moving in that direction? We could put together a small solar project that could maybe power a few lights or even a stereo. We would have this base unit set up and then we could keep adding on as our money dictated. Who says you have to get off the grid all at once. Why not just work your way towards that goal with baby steps.
